Friday Feb 27 1914
Went out to Canoe L. to meet J. Coffey, this morning. He did not come. Had dinner at Fraser’s & took Mr. Jackson to Smoke L. dam, to make a sketch. then to camp. He stayed all night. Fine & bright today, but strong west wind. Getting milder.

Saturday Feb. 28 1914
Took Jackson down to Tea L. dam, where he did some work. We had lunch & came back to Canoe L. Met Fraser coming from Smoke L. he had taken Coffey in to the camp. Bright & quite mild in fore-noon getting stormy towards evening. Still mild tonight.

Sunday April 12 1914
Made snow shoe pattern & bent pr. of frames. Mr. Jackson came down this afternoon. Very strong west wind & quite stormy all day. Getting colder tonight ice booming at a great rate.

Monday April 13 1914
Mr. Jackson & I went to Cradle lake, got there at 11.30 A.M. Splendid going. I caught some fish, while he sketched, this afternoon A beautiful bright day freezing quite hard & 14 1/2 miles we made.

Friday May 1 1914
Froze hard last night, lake iced over, this morning. I went across portage to Canoe L. only to find the ice had not started out yet. Came back, & went up river in aft. & up along shore to P.O. got a lot of mail & posted some. Lower end of Lake full of ice. Saw Tom Thompson (artist.

Sunday May 10 1914
Ernie May, Mr. Jones & Campbell, called at camp this morning. Tom Thompson & Mr. Lismer moved down from Canoe L. & camped on the [Mollie?] Island. here for supper Had a few light showers today. high wind & cloudy tonight quite cool.

Tuesday May 12 1914
Cold north wind all day blowing hard. Put thorts [thwarts?] in the canoe & cleaned up around the camp. Thompson & Lismer here for supper. Calm tonight & clear still quite cool.

Thursday May 14
Came to Smoke Lake this fore noon, got here at 12.30 P.M. Very strong N.W. wind blowing made hard paddling. I went out to P.O. in aft. sent A.S. Pedditt $5.14 Insurance dues. Letter from home. Calm tonight & quite cold. Thompson & Lismer went to Crown L.

At the camp all day. Mr. Mac Laren & party of 10 went in to their camp this morning. Thompson & Lismer called in tonight on their way back from Canoe L. brought in some mail. Very smokey and blowing hard from west all day.

Sunday May 24
Mac Laren & party were here for dinner & went on to Canoe Lake, this afternoon, Lismer & Thompson called, also on their way out. Very fine all day, & the flies are pretty bad. Bad headache today.
