Letter from Grace Wood Redpath to Peter Whiteford Redpath, 2 July 1901

Margate
July 2nd 1901.

My dearly loved Peter.

[…]My dear Peter do not think the sad circumstances would have been changed, had you been permitted to remain at home. We will try to dwell on the blessing given, by your return my dear Peter.- Your dear Amy has your strong arm to lean upon, and you have one of the bravest, devoted sisters to rest upon. Is there not some brightness (if only one) the edge of this dark cloud, we must trust, all into the keeping of our Father, who loved them far more than we can –––

Everyone loved dear Clifford. There is only our note of loving admiration for him. I hope that both of you will be somewhat revived by the changes you are having, having been ill the strain has been great for both of you, but, there is brightness behind the cloud.[…]

Your devoted loving aunt.
