BOTH WERE SHOT.

NO ONE LEFT TO EXPLAIN TRAGEDY IN MONTREAL.

Montreal, June 14. --A very sad affair occurred last evening. For some months Mrs. J. J. Redpath has been a confirmed invalid, one of the characteristics of her malady being prolonged insomnia. About 6 o’clock the household herd an explosion, and hurrying to her room found both Mrs. Redpath and her son, Mr. Clifford Redpath, seriously wounded by revolver shots. Mrs. Redpath died in a short time. Her son was removed in an unconscious condition to the Royal Victoria Hospital, where he expired about midnight. Neither could give any account of what had happened.

Montreal, June 14, -- (Special) -- The inquest over the bodies of Mrs. J. Redpath and her son, who met their death by shooting last night, is fixed for 3 o’clock.

The family refuse to give any details, and a strong effort is being made to have the inquest a private one.
