P.M. Allan Law came to dinner. I called at the Gebhardts & Mrs G. came over to tea with us & spent the evening with Mama, whose eye is worse again today. Dr R. was in & said she must not stir out of a darkened room. She is very weak as well. We hired a woman to read yesterday & today.[...]
