REDPATH TRAGEDY IN MONTREAL

Family Refuse to Make Public Any Details, but it is Said the Son Shot his Mother and Then Committed Suicide.

MONTREAL June 14—The inquest on the bodies of Mrs. Redpath and her son, who met a tragic death by shooting last evening in their home on Sherbrooke street, has been fixed for 3 o’clock this afternoon. The family have issued a statement, but from it nothing can be learned as to the details of the tragedy beyond the fact that the two people are dead. The family have refused all applications for details and every effort is being made to have as little public attention as possible drawn to the tragedy. With that object in view an effort is being made to have the inquest a private one

SON SHOT HIS MOTHER.

It has transpired in connection with the Redpath tragedy that Clifford Redpath shot his mother and then put two bullets in his own head. They had been quarreling for some time and young Redpath is said to have been under the influence of liquor at the time of the tragedy. The young man was a law student.
