Cox to the Colonial Secretary of British Columbia

8 November 1864

The Honorable
The Colonial Secretary

I have the honor to report that the indian witnesses

Nancy [illegible]

referred to in my letter of the 2nd and Yours of the 8 ultimo have returned to the Chilcoaten Country. It would appear from what I can learn that Alexis, when lately at Alexandria, recommended their returning to their friends. The Alexandrian and Chilcoaten tribes being hostile to one another.

I have the honor to be
Your most obedient Servant

Wm. Ge. Cox
