Honorable Senator George Gerard King

G.G. King (1836–1928) was a prominent businessman and politician from Chipman Parish, son of W. C. King, who owned several lumber mills in Queen’s County starting as early as 1871. King was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons in the New Brunswick riding of Queen's in the 1878 federal election. A Liberal, he was re-elected in the 1882 election. He was defeated in the 1887 election and an 1888 by-election, but was re-elected in the 1891 and 1896 elections. He was summoned to the Canadian Senate in 1896 representing the senatorial division of Queen's, New Brunswick. He died in office in 1928.

He is not to be confused with his son, James Horace King, PC, MD (1873–1955), who was also a parliamentarian and senator.
