Aurore! The Mystery of the Martyred Child

Exilda Auger (Madame Arcadius Lemay)

Born in 1870, she was a neighbour of the Gagnons. She was fifty years old at the time of the trial. She had known the accused woman for four years. On February 9, 1920, after seeing the state that Aurore was in, she telephoned the priest and asked him to go to the Gagnons' house. She also advised that the doctor be sent for. She had previously been convicted of selling alcohol without a licence.
