FATAL STABBING AFFRAY.

A. C. S. R. Brakeman Killed in a Bar-room Squabble.

Waterford, Ont., Dec. 9 — About 6 o'clock this evening, at Slaght's Hotel here, a man named Michael Donley, a brakeman in the C. S. R., was fatally stabbed by another employe if the [roe'?] a man named [Wns.?] Lewis. I appears Donely was engaged in a dispute with some stranger in the bar-room, when Lewis came up and interrupted. Donely at once [illegible] his coat to fight him, when Lewis tried to escape and ran behind the bar. Donely followed him and caught him with both hands by the coat collar and pushed him up in the corner. He then looped one of his hands, when Lewis stabbed him in the groin. Donely at once turned round, walked to the end of the bar and exclaimed, "Boys, I am gone," and was caught before falling and, laid on the floor, where he died in about ten minutes. Donely leaves a wife and two children, who live in St. Thomas. Lewis at once went home to his boarding house, and was eating his supper when Constable Henry went in and arrested him, and had him safely ledged in the lock-up. An inquest will be held this evening.
