Feeheley, James

James Feeheley, a friend of the Donnellys, sometimes took part in their escapades. However, the Vigilance Society bullied Feeheley into spying on the Donnelly household the night of the murders. James was to report on who was present in the house. He mistook Johnny O’Connor for John Donnelly. After the second trial, James Feeheley confessed to Patrick Donnelly about his role in the murders. He then fled to Michigan. James was extradited to Canada in 1881 to be put on trial for the murders, but he was released on bail paid for by the Vigilance Society. Nothing came of the charges.
