Blackwell, William

William Blackwell lived at Whalen’s Corners, next to the home of William Donnelly. Blackwell was home the night of February 4, 1880 when a mob gathered outside the home of William Donnelly, shouted, “Fire” and then shot John Donnelly when he answered their call. Blackwell claimed that he heard shots fired, but saw nothing, as he was afraid to investigate. He testified at the inquest, as well as at the trial.
