Talman Regional Collection, University of Western Ontario Archives B4716-1, File: Township of Biddulph ]Born in the 1780s, James Hodgins came to Canada from Tipperary, Ireland in the 1830s. As an agent of the Canada Company, he encouraged Irish Protestants to settle in the Huron Tract. Later, Irish Catholic settlers like the Donnellys also made their way to Biddulph. The Hodgins family played a prominent role in Lucan and area.
