My dear sir,
This will be handed you by Willm Donnelly, who is in my confidence. I want you to put your shoulder to the wheel & do what you can for us. I will undertake to pay you expenses & liberal compensation for your time, but you must go into the matter heart & soul. You will get full credit for whatever you accomplish. I will guarantee so much. I have not spoken to Williams about the matter for the last 2 months, & he will have nothing to do with it, except as regards the evidence he has already got. He is quite sure to get no more. So the coast is clear for you. Donnelly will give you this unobserved, so as not to arouse suspicion, & I want you to let me know at once or as soon as convenient, whether you will act.

Truly yours,
Charles Hutchinson, Cty Atty
