Dear Sir,

re Feeheleys

I was so much surprised disappointed & grieved by your letter informing me of Mr. Mowat's decision with reference to bail, that I did not at the time take in the whole situation, & having now in a measure recovered from the shock, it occurs to me that it will be rather a strange & awkward matter to accept as bail persons known as members of the Vigilant Committee, & who there is every reason to believe was concerned in the murders. One suspected murderer going bail for another does not appear to be exactly the right thing, & yet it would seem inevitable under an order for all in this case. [...]

Yours truly,
Charles Hutchinson, Co Crown Atty
