twenty-one or About, Residing with Sieur Moniere at his service since September last on Rue St Paul.[...]

Deposed [...] that he can say nothing having no Knowledge if the fire Was Caused by the said Negress or thibault; that he knows that the said Negress while Sleeping in the room of The house of Sieur moniere close to The stove, The fire had erupted in Her Blanket, and that he who is Deposing, Being Asleep along with the coachman of Monsieur le Commissaire and the said thibault, near the Fire, in the Bakery Below in the Courtyard, The fire erupted In their blanket the same night; that he who is deposing Had a sleeve of his Cloak

And of his jacket Burned, and Awakened by The smoke, He saw the Said thibault Extinguishing the Fire. And that on the same Day, He left Saying that he was Going to Quebec. [...] after requesting salary we requited him with Ten sols.
