Appeared Jean Joseph Boudard Dit Laflamendiere, aged forty-one years, Surgeon Serving ordinarily at the hospital Where is still actually his lodging Soldier in the de la freniere's Company, [...]

Deposed [...] That he has no Knowledge but to have heard a Public voice [rumour], saying that it Was the Unfortunate Negress of lady francheville who had Set the fire; that the Night of the Burning, being in the Garden of the Hospital to help in the Rescue and the Gathering of the Furniture from the fire, He saw the Said Negress who was Drinking with two men unknown to him; that upon his Reproaches to her of it, She said that It Was not

wine nor Eau de vie; that he tasted from the Bottle in her possession and Knew it to Be syrup; that he went to warn The Sisters And with Their orders Returned where Was the Said Negress, Not finding there the said Two men. And Led the Said Negress to bouchard' small Room where The said Sisters were and from where the said Negress Left a quarter of an Hour after without the Knowledge of the said Sisters. And Saw Her Then seated On a straw bedding in the Cour des Pauvres, [...]
