Appeared Marie Louïse Poirier widow of Jean vignault daughter of Pierre poirier de lafleur residing at isle peraud [île Perrot], age twenty-eight years residing in service at the Sieur Mailhot, Rue St Paul [...]

Deposed [...] that she can say Nothing about the fire, that Returning from the prayer, She saw it appear through The Roof; that None was coming out of the Chimneys. That she Left the service of the Said lady francheville eight days prior to the Burning Because the said Negress could not Suffer her And Convinced Her Mistress that she could do Very Well by herself what was required to do in the House And That because she who is Deposing prevented her a few times from Drinking Eau de vie and from going out without permission; that the said lady francheville

said, to She who is Deposing, When She left, that she could return Once the said Negress Had departed when the Barges flowed downstream That spring for Quebec. That the said Negress many times stated, to she who is deposing, that if She Ever reached Her country and there Were Whites there, She would see them Burned Like Dogs, that they are Without Worth, that She could not, she knows prior to the said Negress fleeing with the man Named thibaut towards New england, She had stolen three Deer skins from the said widow lady francheville, [...] And after having requested Salary was requited with fifteen Sols.
