Deposed [...] that little time before the fire was noticed at the House of the deceased
Sieur de francheville, She who is Deposing, Being
seated at the door of the House of the said Sieur de Berey, which neighbours
That of the deceased Sieur de francheville, the Said Negress came
to Tickle her to make her Laugh. She who is Deposing told her
that she Was in no Humour to Laugh; the Said Negress entered the home of
the said francheville And Came out as quickly and returned to She who is
deposing And told Her, "You just don't want to laugh; there is Madame
francheville who is Laughing Well with Madame duvivier, Who will not long Be in

Her Home and will not Sleep there," And Went back; that she saw Her three or four times in the Street Looking
Towards the Roof of the House of the said deceased Sieur de francheville;
that she had the Daughter of Sieur De Couagne of
Isle Royal and the daughter of Sieur desrivieres Enter into the Said House; And that one quarter hour
later, a fire alert was shouted out. That having left the Kitchen of Sieur
de Berey, She saw that the Pigeon house of the House of the said deceased
Sieur de francheville Was On fire, And that The Negress Was outside looking
pale, and had difficulty Crying out fire. And She who is deposing then
said to Sieur de Berey, What the Negress had said to her, And that she Indeed
was Right to say that Her Mistress would Not sleep in Her House; [...].
