Confrontation done By Us Pierre Raimbault King's counsellor Lieutenant General, Civil, Et Criminel, at the Seat of the Jurisdiction Royale of Montreal at The request of the King's prosecutor, Plaintiff And accuser Against Marie Joseph, Negress Slave of the said widow francheville, prisoner In the gaols of This city And thibault accused and Accomplice; of the witnesses heard at The Information done by Us on the fifteenth of April last And This, In the Execution of Our ordinance of the eight of this Month […]

On Thursday the twenty-seven of
May Seventeen Hundred
thirty-four at seven in the morning
In the Chambers of the Gaol
of This city.

Had brought Before us by the Gaol keeper the said accused with whom we Confronted Jean Joseph

Boudard eleventh witness [...] stated to Know of each other [...]

And Interrogated [...] the Said accused stated that she

knows no Cause to make Reproaches Against the Said witness if he told the truth.

This done we proceeded with a Reading to the said accused of the deposition And Re-examination of the said witness And after hearing it she stated that it Is truthful but for one exception, that she did not enter into the Chamber where the Sisters were, that she Stayed at the door As she told Us. And the said witness Stated that His Deposition And Re-examination are truthful; and said of the said Accused present that he heard her speak as stated in His Deposition And Re-examination And maintained this to the said Accused with the exception of the report that the said accused had Entered Into Bouchard’s Chamber, Which he cannot Maintain as after Taking her to the door where the Sisters Were And telling her to Enter, He in the instant left. Following a Reading to them of the present Confrontation Each persisted on their own Behalf, the Said Boudard Signed And the said accused declared to not know how to sign, as requested.
