The year seventeen hundred thirty-four the twenty-fifth day of the month of May By virtue of a Certain decree of arrest obtained from monsieur the Lieutenant General at the seat of The jurisdiction royale of Montreal, Dated the sixth of This month Signed and Sealed, And as ordained by the King's prosecutor at the said seat of montreal, where he Elected to be Domiciled, In his hotel rue St. Paul, I the undersigned King's bailiff at the

jurisdiction Royalle of montreal and residing on rue notre Dame, took myself To the Market place, accompanied by francois Roy drum major for the troops of this country where, Being there and Having Beaten the Drum, I by public cry summoned the man Named Thibault to Appear in a week’s time Before My said sieur the Lieutenant general Of the Said jurisdiction for wrongdoing and to surrender to the King's Gaols of This city, as by the said decree; and in the instant I advanced

to the principal Entrance door of the courtroom of the said jurisdiction, And other Places, And to the main crossroads accompanied by the said francois Roy drummer and he having beaten a Drum roll at Each location One after the Other, I with a public cry upon the same proclamation Did summon the Said Thibault to Appear in a week’s time Before the said monsieur the Lieutenant General for Wrongdoing and to surrender to the King's Gaol of This city As by the Decree issued against Him for the purposes of the above, And furthermore to agree to proceed as such for the reasons stated and addressed above by Me [in] the present document of which

a copy has Been posted by me at the Door of the Court room; to observe And make known what is required on The above Day And year; signed bailiff Marchand with initials.
