Jacques Jalleteau

Jacques Jalleteau is, like Claude Thibault, a salt trafficker exiled in Canada. A native of Cholet near LaRochelle, in France, he is 21 years of age. Soon after his arrival in Canada he hired himself out as a domestic for Alexis Lemoine Monière. His brief testimony offers a glimpse of the living conditions of domestics and slaves in Montréal.
