Hall F, Northern Wall

Before the time of the Norse someone dug a pit in the terrace and threw the sand from it out over the terrace. Les lignes noires indiquent les plaques de tourbe qui forment les coins au nord de la salle. Les murs ont été érigés sur une rive où le gravier, le sable et les pierres se sont accumulés en larges bandes. La ligne foncée qui suit le contour de la rive indique la végétation morte qui date de 3000 à 4000 ans. Avant l'arrivée des Scandinaves, quelqu'un avait creusé une fosse dans le terre-plein et jeté le sable par-dessus ce terre-plein. Les Scandinaves ont rempli le fossé avec des bandes de tourbe.
