George Rowe and group, Unknown, Algonquin Park Archives, APMA 5084, George Rowe, who worked as an Algonquin Park guide out of Mowat at the same time as Thomson was there, is in the back row, far left. Rowe was one of the men who brought Thomson's body in to shore upon its discovery in the lake

Tuesday March 16 1915
Had a bad night and not well today. The Dr. took the stitches out of my wounds this afternoon. Mr. Amsden & Tom Thompson were here today.

Wednesday April 28 1915
Paddled up to Mink L. & picked up my box-traps. Met Vanclief (guide) on Tea L. had come up river from L. of Bays. Also met Rowe & Thompson with two Johnston boys, (tourists) Very strong west wind, thunder, no rain.

Wednesday May 19 1915
Came in to Smoke L. camp, this morning, from Canoe L. St. Rowe & Thompson landed, there with their party. I planted some potatoes & dug the garden, this A.M. Very cold last night. Strong wind today “N”

Monday June 7 1915 Raine a little early this morning Cloudy all day, Raining quite heavy tonight from about 6.30. Thompson & Rowe called, coming back from B. Bear Lake. Cochrane & party passed down river, from Hdqr’s. Fixed up cook house windows.
