William H. Fitzgerald

William H. Fitzgerald was the interpreter for Commissioner William Cox during the expedition to Bute Inlet. He also was hired as a French-English translator during the trial of Klatsassin, Telloot, Piell, Chessus, Tahpit, and Chedekki, which was presided over by Matthew Begbie. The testimonies were then translated from French to Tsilhqot′in, and vice versa, by another interpreter named Baptist.
