GAGNON LEAVES FOR THE PENITENTIARY

The Gagnon couple see each other one last time.

(Canadian Press)

QUEBEC CITY, 8. — Télesphore Gagnon, sentenced to life imprisonment, left for the St. Vincent de Paul Penitentiary yesterday.

Before his departure, he was granted permission to see his wife, who has been sentenced to be hanged on the first of October. When the husband and wife saw each other, they apparently showed no emotion and acted very calmly. The guards did not have to intervene.
