THE DONNELLY TRAGEDY.

Reward Offered by the Ontario Government.

We are pleased to note that the Ontario Government has issued a proclamation offering a reward of four thousand dollars in the Donnelly murder case. Every effort should be made to trace out the perpretrators of the cowardly crime and convict them. Evidence convincing must be produced before the public will consent that the lives of any shall be offered up on the scaffold, but when that evidence is once secured, and there is no reasonable doubt as to the murderers, the safety of the people demands that the full penalty of the law shall be inflicted. It is to be hoped that no effort will be spared on any hand to bring the guilty parties to justice.
