Keefe Family

Led by father James Sr., the Keefe family were great friends to the Donnellys. Son Daniel Keefe was present the night Will Donnelly attempted to abduct Margaret Thompson, and James Keefe Jr. was present with the Donnelly boys at various incidents. Some believe that the mob also intended to kill James Jr. the night of the murders. Son Thomas and cousin Robert Keefe testified that they saw Patrick Ryder Jr. attempting to hide himself as he rode down the Roman Line the night of the murders.
