So Who Did Kill The Donnellys?

[ Jane (Jennie) Donnelly Later in Life, By Permission of Ray Fazakas, Unknown, Private Collection of Ray Fazakas  ][...] If there were any doubt that a Donnelly craze is about to peak, it is estimated that some 50 folk songs on the subject have been recently written or revived. Stompin' Tom Connors' is probably the best known, but up in Donnelly country a balladeer named Earl Heywood has written and recorded no fewer than 14 songs recounting the entire saga of the hero-villains of Biddulph.
