Feby 21 1881

I have been acquanited with Mr William Donnelly for some years, & during the past year very intimately. I have no hesitation in stating that so far as my opportunites have extended, I have found Mr Donnelly sober, truthful, & honest. I feel sure that he will do his duty faithfully & conscientiously in any position he may be placed.

Charles Hutchinson, Crown Atty, Middlesex

[This letter is in reference to Donnelly’s application to be a constable]
