Glencoe Transcript, November 18, 1886

The spirit of rowdyism has lately made itself prominent in our streets. Sunday evening last a gang of drunken ruffians made themselves obnoxious to the law-abiding citizens, and we understand warrants will be issued for their arrest. Glencoe has now a good magistrate in the person of Mr. George Wilson, and Constable Donnelly expresses his determination to enforce his authority to the utmost limit in putting down the rowdy element which has too long been allowed to go unpunished. We understand the authorities of Elgin County, where these rowdies procured their liquor, will also proceed against them for furious driving.
