Jean-Baptiste Decoste

Born in Paris, Jean-Baptiste Decoste, since his arrival in Canada, rarely uses his noble status of Sieur de Monsel and Létangcour. He holds minor administrative and legal posts, such as the title of court bailiff granted in 1732. He is the son-in-law of Nicolas Marchand, caretaker at the King's goals in Montréal.
