The Place of Execution

Initially the execution was to take place at the river’s edge, between the ruins of the house of Louis-Thomas Chabert de Joncaire and the river, but it was moved to a vacant lot near the houses that were burned in the fire, at the junction of rue Saint-Paul and rue Saint-Denis (now de Vaudreuil).
